Period Delay Tablets at Imaan Healthcare

Period Delay Support Through Pharmacist Consultation

Period delay tablets can be used to temporarily postpone a menstrual period for specific short-term needs, such as travel, religious observance, or personal circumstances.

At Imaan Healthcare, this service is provided following a confidential consultation with a trained pharmacist to ensure suitability and safety in line with national clinical guidance.

What Is the Period Delay Service?

The Period Delay Service allows eligible individuals to delay their menstrual period using an oral medication, most commonly containing norethisterone, a synthetic form of progesterone.

Norethisterone works by maintaining progesterone levels in the body, which prevents the lining of the womb from shedding. As a result, menstruation is delayed until the tablets are stopped.

The medication is usually started three days before the expected start of the period. Menstruation typically resumes two to three days after the course is completed.

This hormone works by maintaining high progesterone levels in your body, which prevents the womb lining from shedding, therefore delaying your period until you stop taking the tablets.

You should begin taking the delay period pill 3 days before your expected period start date.

Your period will typically return 2–3 days after finishing the course.
