We are proud to offer our local communities an Electronic Prescription Service. Electronic prescriptions are the best form of prescription delivery as they can be sent to your local pharmacy and are highly secure, reliable and confidential – with the added benefit of no back and forth with the usual paper-based prescription. Pharmacy delivery is also available to those that cannot collect in-store.

What is the Electronic Prescription Service?

The Electronic Prescription Service, or more commonly abbreviated to EPS, is a service provided by the NHS through community care settings allowing for prescription delivery throughout local communities.

The service allows your GP to send your prescription electronically from their computer to one of our pharmacies. This means that you don’t need a paper copy of your prescription. As it is sent by your GP electronically, you don’t need to collect the prescription from your GP in person.

Why should I use EPS?

Using EPS means that you don’t have to visit your GP every time you need a new prescription delivery. By nominating one of our pharmacies, you will also benefit from getting your medicines delivered to your home or work address as part of our prescription delivery services (for more information, please follow this link).

How do I sign up to the Electronic Prescription Service?

Signing up for the Electronic Prescription Service is easy. You can get started by nominating one of our pharmacies. You can do this in 2 ways. You can visit the individualised pharmacy websites and fill out our online pharmacy nomination form; you will be enrolled onto the EPS after we receive your nomination Alternatively, you can call your local Imaan branch, and one of our pharmacists will happily enrol you onto the EPS. Is EPS right for me?

EPS is suitable for those who have a regular or repeat prescription but you do not want to visit your GP practice every time to collect. You can instead send your prescription straight to your local Imaan Pharmacy ready for collection. EPS may not be suitable for you if you do not get prescriptions very often or tend to pick your prescription up from different places.
Can I cancel the Electronic Prescription Service?

Yes, you can. To cancel your nominated EPS pharmacy and to stop using the pharmacy delivery service, just let your GP know that you don’t want your prescription to be sent out electronically. For more information, you can follow this link.
Can I change my nominated EPS pharmacy?

You can freely change your EPS nominated pharmacy at any time. If you want to change your current nomination to a new pharmacy, simply speak to one of our pharmacists. Let them know before your next prescription is due or your prescription delivery may be sent to the wrong pharmacy address.
